Hello and welcome to Boston Uncorked! My name is Jay Essegian and I am a self-described wine enthusiast who has been collecting and enjoying fine wines for the better part of a decade. My interest in fine wine dates back to 1996, when I accidentally stumbled upon a then little known winery called Pride Mountain Vineyards at the annual Epcot Food & Wine Festival in Disney World (fine wine at Disney World??…..who knew)! At any rate, the experience forever changed my perspective on wine and I immediately signed up for their mailing list. Today, the winery produces some of the most sought-after Cabernet, Merlot & Cabernet Franc in the Napa Valley. Getting on their mailing list today can be likened to scoring U2 tickets the day AFTER they go on sale…impossible! Talk about beginners luck…
  

Since that fateful day, I’ve tried to increase my wine knowledge and appreciation for fine wine by attending as many wine tastings as possible. For the last six years, I’ve attended the Wine Spectator NY Wine Experience, The Boston Wine Expo and The Epcot Food & Wine Festival in Orlando, FL. In addition to these annual events, I make a point of attending a number of local wine tastings in and around the Boston area.

After discovering that a void existed in Boston, my friends and I decided to launch Boston Uncorked with the hopes of introducing the joy of wine to the masses. I hope you will join us and I look forward to seeing you at our next event!
